FES is an interdenominational organization that seeks to promote and coordinate Christian witness in institutions of higher learning in Singapore.

Goals

Our goals are in three areas:

1. Evangelism

Proclaiming Jesus Christ as Saviour, Lord and God to students on campus and leading them to personal faith in Christ.

2. Formación

Promoting a life of discipleship and a growing maturity among students associated with our Christian Fellowships (CFs) and equipping them for a lifetime of service in the family, church and society.

3. Cross-cultural mission

Equipping and encouraging students to take the good news of Christ to every nation – within and outside Singapore – and to be part of the Church’s witness of the good news, in order to become witnessing communities of salt and light in every area of society and culture.

Distinctives

We are:

1. Evangelical

Our firm conviction is that the Bible is the Word of God, the absolute truth which charts the way to life and directs our conduct. This belief is reflected in the emphasis we place on Bible study and evangelism.

2. Evangelistic

We believe that Christian students are best placed to reach other students for Christ during their time on campus.

3. Missions-Minded

We challenge students to look beyond their comfort zones and immediate surroundings to seriously consider God’s call to missions through our missions programme and other means.

4. Committed to and Encourage Student Initiative

We value student initiative, responsibility and leadership as these qualities are essential in building spiritual leaders who will eventually become church leaders.

5. Interdenominational

We are a fellowship of Christian students from different denominations and churches committed to the common goal of reaching and nurturing students for Christ on campus. Our student Christian Fellowships (CFs) accept Christian students from all evangelical denominations into membership on the basis of their subscription to the doctrinal basis of the Fellowship and their commitment to the aims of the Fellowship.

6. Church-Oriented

We are a para-church organisation with specific objectives and a homogeneous membership. We highlight to students the importance of belonging to a local church in addition to being part of the CF. The CF should be seen as a training ground for ministry in their churches especially after they graduate. In this way, FES complements the ministries of the local church.
